L'Olmo is really in the heart of Umbria.

From here you can reach the most beautiful destinations in the area. Close to Assisi and all the major centers of art, culture and faith, we are in the middle of one of the most reknowned area of food and wine. Not far from the centers of pottery, traditional hand made crafts and  cashmere excellences but also close to the Sibillini National Park, the Mount Subasio and Valnerina natural parks: a must-ride Valnerina and Castelluccio, perhaps with the experience of rafting. Close to Spello, Bevagna, Montefalco or Corciano for a nice after dinner; a visit to the outlet of Brunello Cucinelli in Solomeo, Fabiana Filippi Giano dell’Umbria or Claudio Cutuli in Bevagna; a visit to the “shell” of Arnaldo Pomodoro which is the Cellar of the famous vinery Tenuta di Castelbuono in Cantalupo Bevagna; a visit to the islands of Trasimeno Lake, the medieval castle of the island Polvese or the enchanting island Borgo Maggiore; the Etruscan walls of monumental Bettona and its gardens or those of Todi; the “crossing” of Mount Subasio to the village of Collepino; the beautiful village of Montone in Alta Valle Tiberina; the market flea in Campello sul Clitunno (Pissignano – campelloweb.com); the polygonical square of  Montefalco.

Take the scenic route between the ancient olive groves between Trevi and Spoleto. Pay a visit to the Roman ruins of Carsulae (carsulae.it), near Terni. Travel to Orvieto stopping by the Tevere River and cross the region border with Lazio to enjoy the very unique and surprising Civita di Bagno Regio. Take half a day to relax to the Roman Baths in the Hotel Nun Assisi (nunassisi.com). Go see the world’s smallest theater in Montecastello Vibio (teatropiccolo.it). Visit the cellar and the mill of the farm and eco-Zero Co2 Castle Montevibiano Vecchio (montevibiano.it).

Do not miss the extra virgin oil of Bettona or Trevi, the Sagrantino di Montefalco red wine or the Orvieto white wine, typical shops with Umbria and Norcia hams and sausages, a true Chianina beef steak, the onion of Cannara, the “fagiolina” of the lake (a special ancient rare bean), the lentils and potatoes of Colfiorito. Contemporary art has a temple in Umbria and unrepeatable in Citta di Castello, where you will find the works of the great Alberto Burri at the Foundation Burri (fondazioneburri.org).
